Urban Missions Child Center (UMCC) Services
- Affordable Childcare services for low income single parents (Future Project). Before & after school program (6-9 am and 3-6 pm).
Site Definitions:
- Sustainable Social Capital is the ability to navigate resources, build relationships, and develop the community to succeed in reaching your goals, is sustainable social capital.
- Postsecondary Opportunities are any opportunities for education you engage in after high school (i.e. college, technical or vocational training, licensed or certificate programs).
- Permanency Supports describe resources such as housing, transportation, and health care that are often difficult for youth in transition to access and maintain.
- Networking is connecting with people and sharing information to work together on behalf of obtaining your goals.
- Social Enterprise is a way we give back to the community by creating jobs and offering services at a discounted price to our neighbors. It's our way of sharing the light of Christ and assisting people in improving the quality of life in our communities. Urban Missions Child Center (UMCC) is our social enterprise service. This service may be subject to an alternate location.
- Harambee is a Kenyan tradition of community self-help events; people helping, people! Harambee means "all pull together" in Swahili. Harambee is also the official motto of Kenya, Africa.
