The Problem:
Many foster youths face unprecedented challenges like homelessness, lack of financial and adult support, difficulty accessing educational opportunities, and unemployment. Why is there a disparity in college attendance between foster youth and other young people when programs exist to help them? Studies have shown that the issue is not a lack of desire on the student's part but rather a lack of preparation and readiness to take on the challenges of higher education. The problem is the need for continued adult support from high-school graduation to higher education goal attainment to decrease youth poverty and displacement. The solution is networking and support like yours, like ours! Together we can build strong communities!
